Perimenopausal depression, occurring shortly before or after menopause, is characterized by symptoms such as emotional depression, anxiety, and stress, often accompanied by endocrine dysfunction, particularly hypogonadism and senescence. The erratic fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels during the perimenopausal stage expose women to the risk of developing perimenopausal-associated depression. These hormonal changes trigger the production of proinflammatory mediators and induce oxidative stress, leading to progressive tissue damage.

一、Perlonfo Antioxidant Cellular Defense Complex (4-in-1)

This dietary supplement consists of L-Ergothionein, Dihydroquercetin, Trans-Resveratrol and Vitamin C.These dietary components can exert antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects through multiple pathways, and resist tissue damage[1].

Ergothioneine (ET) is a naturally occurring amino acid and thiol antioxidant found in high amounts in mushrooms and fermented foods. The unique sulphur-based chemistry of thiols plays an important role in cellular function and protection of cellular components[2]. Blood (and likely tissue) levels of ET are also significantly decreased in individuals with a variety of age-related disorders. This suggests that lower blood levels of ET are a risk factor for age-related disorders and supplementation could be beneficial. Indeed, Ames [3] suggested that ET should be classified as a “longevity vitamin”, i.e. it may play a role in lowering the risk, or progression of age-related disorders, and promote healthy longevity. l-ergothioneine not only prevents oxidative damage but also may enable DNA repair in the UV-irradiated cells. The diminished oxidative damage to cellular constituents limits the apoptotic response and results in increased cell viability. The cells' ability to take up, accumulate, and utilize the potent antioxidant l-ergothioneine positions this naturally occurring amino acid and its receptor/transporter as an integral part of the antioxidative defense system of the skin[4].

resveratrol, a stilbene abundant in grapes and red wine, has well-documented phytoestrogenic properties. The wide-ranging health benefits of phytoestrogens include alleviation of menopausal symptoms and reduction in the risks of metabolic disorders, osteoporosis, hormone-dependent cancers, cardiovascular and brain diseases, as well as skin aging. Over the last 20 years, there have been almost 200 studies evaluating resveratrol can benefit human health[5]. Resveratrol may improve pain and bone metabolism (CTX) in postmenopausal women [6]. there have also been encouraging findings from several of the larger studies with longer intervention periods, such as the RESHAW trial involving post-menopausal women, which demonstrated that RSV supplementation significantly improved overall cognitive performance, menopausal symptoms, and measures of general well-being [7]. Regular Supplementation With Resveratrol Improves Bone Mineral Density in Postmenopausal Women[8]

二、 Plant-Based Omega Vitality Complex

Postmenopausal women with deficiencies of these nutrients(vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin D, iron, omega-3-fatty acids, and lycopene) are more vulnerable to comorbidities such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, metabolic diseases, osteoporosis, obesity, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, cognitive decline, dementia, and stroke.

Perlonfo is scientifically formulated to provide a daily dose of 1200 mg Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil, 600 mg Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil, 8 mg Lycopene Oil, and 2.9 mg Vitamin E.. It is characterized by containing a complete range of plant-based Omega-3, 6, 7, and 9 fatty acids as a substitute for fish oil, Especially rich in Omega-7, which is known as the "only fatty acid that can significantly alter lipid metabolism changes in adipose tissue",,And provide a 2:1 health requirement ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3. and is rich in vitamin E, total carotenoids, trace elements, and more., And provide a 2:1 health requirement ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3.

Scientific research suggests that a healthy intake ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 should be controlled between 4:1 and 1:1. However, modern diets often use large amounts of vegetable oils, with ratios as high as 15:1 or even 20:1, which can lead to chronic inflammation and increased risk of various diseases. Moderate intake of Omega-6 is necessary, and an excessively high Omega-6/Omega-3 ratio is the core engine driving chronic inflammation.

N-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids have potential benefits for hot flashes and night sweats ,two studies have shown that using vitamin E and omega-3 in combination reduces hot flashes (HF)and indicates the potential of a co-supplementation approach to mitigate VSM and sleep disturbances[2].

Sea buckthorn oil relieved the dryness-associated symptoms of genital mucousmembranes,,this indicating Sea buckthorn oil  is a potential alternative formucosal integrity for those women not able to use estrogen treatment for vaginal atrophy[3].

In a 2022 systematic review, six animal studies, four human RCTs, one human open-label trial and six human observational studies were considered, with the authors concluding that ‘most studies reported relieved depressive symptoms in relation to omega-3 PUFA intake’[4].

Omega-3 fatty acids are involved in the suppression of bone resorption and prevention of bone loss. As postmenopausal women are susceptible to osteoporosis, which is characterized by decreased bone mineral density, increased bone turnover, and therefore a higher risk of fractures, omega-3 fatty acids may have a slight decreasing effect on bone turnover markers[5].

lycopene shows positive properties in preventing bone loss in postmenopausal women and referred to the beneficial effect of proper lycopene intake and the reduction of bone resorption markers[6].
